Located in the affluent Dallas neighborhood of University Park this Georgian styled Colonial has the typical brick construction and neo-classical detailing found in the middle and southern colonies in the early 1700’s.  The divergent element to this style is the porch spanning across the entire front which is more identifiable to the Colonial Revival style.  The home is raised off the ground on a high foundation and rooted to the site using large balusters for the broad first floor porch.

The plan is a fairly standard contemporary layout that is found in the University Park neighborhoods – a center hall plan with rear access garage.  The front half of the first floor is devoted to more formal entertaining spaces and a large combined informal family area is in the rear.  The second floor is the more private family area.  All bedrooms are located here and a family entertainment area is in the rear portion of the second floor over the garage.  The master bedroom commands the view of the rear yard and has a spa like bath area with barreled ceiling and oversized his and her closets.

The resulting design is one of a comfortable family oriented home firmly rooted in its architectural heritage and suited to the surrounding neighborhood.  A quiet elegance without being stiff and proper.
